I have seen it, and I don’t think that he was acting. Parkinson’s creates very bad tremors…He has had Parkinson’s for a while now, so I believe that his tremors would be pretty bad at this point.
Oh, I don’t.
He was acting! My grandad had Parkinsons but sadly died about 12 years ago before the medication advancements & I saw a documentary about a 25 year old sufferer recently. The pills mean that the tremors are controlled some of the time, yet when they do come they are extremely concentrated & draining it would be impossible to talk or even breath in a coherent manner, the shaking in the ad (which I’ve only seen clips of on UK news) seem too executed & controlled! I’m not saying MJF’s motives are wrong but he was acting in this instance
He was not faking. I have seen several interviews with him and one where he even asked to stop tape so he could take some medication. It was CRAZY Ruch Limbaugh who said he may be “faking”, he was probably high on Oxy cottton.
In Michael’s own book “I’m a Lucky Man” he states that he didn’t take his meds when speaking before Congress because he wanted people to witness the ravages of this awful disease. Perhaps he didn’t take his meds in order to film this ad.
Even if he were acting, he gets the point across that stem cell research needs to be passed to find a cure for Parkinsons. I don’t see what people are making all the fuss about.
And Rush Limbaugh should keep his mouth shut.
Yes, I have seen Michael’s ad quite a few times and it makes me happy every time I see it. I’m sure that the ad shocked countless numbers of people, but that’s a good thing. Michael is such an amazing person and that ad really gets his message across. Michael’s ablity to stand up for what he believes in is an inspiration to us all.
I saw it. My grandma has severe tremors from Parkinson’s so his portrayal of it (real or fake- does it really matter?) shows exactly what the disease is like. It’s a good ad that shows his support for stem cell research and for the politician that will also support stem cell research.
He was not acting, people with parkinsons have no control over their body, I had a grandpa with it. It is so sad to watch this as I know at one time he was “embarrased” about it. If he wants stem cell research let him have & God forbid if any of our own children get this. Or any other incurable disease. Rush Limaugh & all others who say he was acting should keep there damn mouth shut. Would they make fun of some one dying of cancer???
