grandmabonnie asked:
I have parkinsons’ Disease so have not been able to work since 2003. My disease is progressing so trying to work is out of the question. I’ve tried doing some marketing and didn’t do anything but loose money. I have had custody of my grandchild since 2001 and do not receive any financial aid from her parents except on rare occassions. They get her about every other weekend and both of them work. I did not ask for any aid when I gained custody as I knew I couldn’t get blood out of a turnip and they willingly gave me custody because they couldn’t get along and would have brawls – long story – Her natural grandfather does not give any aid either nor offers too. He can see her anytime but seldom ask and it would be war to get anything out of him. When I first applied for disability I was told that my now husband and I would have to adopt her in order to get any help. He does get a retirement and works sometimes out of a painters local. Can anyone give me any info?
I do have legal custody of her and I don’t discuss money issues with her unless she ask for something we can’t afford. Her stepgrandfather has done more for her than either her parents or her natural grandfather. If she were disabled then we could get help and BTW, I don’t appreciate the answer about beating her up. That whoever you are was a stupid answer and you should be ashamed for suggesting such a thing. If you don’t know the answer then don’t answer – I am looking for serious mature adults that know how to answer a question , not some silly things he/ she know it all.
