A question asked by Connor Zook: One of my good friends has just discovered that he has the early stages of skin cancer developing on his back.?
He says that it didn’t come from a mole and that the doctor never said that the mutated cells had started metastasizing. He also has parkinson’s disease to the point where he is shaking a little bit every time he is holding something in his hand. Please give him an estimate of his expected life-span. He didn’t have any lesions either. He is a healthy, active and physically fit fourteen-year-old.

First of all, let me give my sympathy to this child. He seems like such a fighter :)

As for life span, from what I have heard early stages ( I’m assuming 1 MAYBE 2 stage) is very curable. He should be fine. Relax and let him know about all of the people who have been fine 50 years after cancer. He is young and sounds pretty healthy. I will be praying for this precious child.

A question from Addicted to Yahoo! Answers: What are cancer treatment options when the patient also has Parkinson’s Disease?
A dear friend of mine has Stage 3A lung cancer, but also has Parkinson’s Disease, and there appear to be limited treatment options. Can anyone provide some guidance on this issue?

the only definitive cure for lung cancer is through surgery, however it is not done on everyone, as not everyone is a suitable candidate

i would presume your friend is in the 60-70 age group, which is not a really the best age to have radical surgery (as it is a major surgery and may involve removing the whole affected lung) and taking additional chemotherapies or radiotherapies to increase the effectiveness of the surgery would make the experience much worse. and with the cancer already at an advanced stage, makes the doctor to tend to steer away from the surgical option.

even so, sometimes with radiotherapy or chemotherapy the tumor may shrink and downstage the tumor that the surgeons might consider surgery as an option later along the course

i sleep all day and nap for about 4 hours everytime i get home from school.
i fake happy all the time because really im stressed out as hell and cant stand myself.

i feel unimportant and that nobody likes me..my self-esteem is so low right now i dont know what to do with myself.
no one in my family wants me my brothers ******* **** me, i dont talk to my dad, and my mom says im a spoiled bratty ***** pretty much and she “jokes” that she wants to give me up. says she doesnt know what to do with me.
i used to get straight as and now im getting cs and bs and all my friends do so great and i **** it because they dont even try and i work my **** off to get good grades and i dont get them and no one thinks i try
also about my ex boyfriend, hes emotionally scarred me. its too much to say everything he did to me, but now i cant get emotionally attached to a guy and when one likes me alot i have a hard time dealing with it and i dont like it it makes me feel sick when they say how much they like me and stuff. if a guy talks to me for too long i push them away and get mad because my ex talked to me for more than half of the day on the phone because he called me so much. i cant get close to any guy. i like flirting and stuff still but once it gets serious i feel sick and dont like it. i dont like having boyfriends anymore or the idea of being taken. when my other ex after him showed to much affection i felt sick and pushed him away. how do i get over this ? i dont want to be like this forever
and my best friend, right now shes sleeping with about 10 guys and some of them beat her and she *********** herself for some of them and she cant get it through her head how bad this is and she just wont stop
