Question posed by 7 W: Why do Doctors give blood tests for lead poisoning when lead doesn’t stay in the blood ?
If lead only stays in the blood for up to 72 hours and then it moves out of the body or to the bones, and organs, why do Doctors only take blood tests? Blood tests only show recent exposure to lead and may be good for children eating paint chips but…why not test the bones or organs?
What can be done for an adult who has been exposed to lead?
Are there any studies done about heavy metals (lead) causing Parkinson’s disease?
thanks,

If they can’t find certain things in your blood they’ll need another sample of blood to test it for something else.

Is there a center, or a group of doctors that you can recommend?

Can you provide information about why this doctor, doctors, center is better, or the best?

Can you suggest any ways to tell which place or doctor may be the best in this area?

Are any of these better for “late stage” Parkinsons?

Can you suggest any other sites, groups, blogs, Q+A sites that may be a good place to get suggestions?

Is it possible to mitigate the effects of Parkinson’s disease? Neurologist Daniela Berg and her research team in Tübingen are trying to answer that question. They are using a method involving ultrasound to detect the disease in its early stages and pinpoint the loss of nerve cells in parts of the brain. It’s hoped that this procedure will enable doctors to use drugs to slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease as well, ultimately making it possible to prevent degenerative brain diseases.
